From no buy button to a store that ships beer to 11 provinces and territories.
Good Robot runs three taprooms and beer gardens in and around Halifax. From June 2025 to June 2026, its website had no way to buy a can. We rebuilt it as a Canadian ecommerce template on Good Robot's own domain: 29 products, packs from a single can to 24, and a mix-your-own pack. It delivers across Halifax and ships by Canada Post to 11 provinces and territories.

How it came to be

Order Now went elsewhere
The homepage's Order Now and Shop Online buttons sent people to harvestwines.ca, another retailer's site. Good Robot's own site sold nothing.
June 2025 to June 2026
No way to buy
Then the link went too. The menu was Locations, Events, Beverages, Contact, and Beverage Co-Packing. The Beverages page showed 19 cans as drawings, with no prices and nothing to press.

We built the store and tested it on a subdomain while the old site kept running. It was up there by 20 September 2026.

Live on the main domain
Then it moved onto goodrobotbrewing.ca itself, with Shop first in the menu. By 28 September 2026 it carried 29 products and shipped to 11 provinces and territories.
Good Robot is one of Halifax's best-loved breweries: three taprooms and beer gardens, and The Coast's readers' pick for the city's best craft brewery. Its website didn't sell beer. From June 2025 there wasn't even a link to a shop.
Beer online in Canada has its own rules. Every buyer has to be 19 or over in Nova Scotia, with ID at the door. Where it can ship depends on the province, and Quebec and British Columbia are paused for now.

Shop leads the menu and it's the only button in the hero. The old menu had Locations, Events, Beverages, Contact, and Beverage Co-Packing, and no shop at all.

Every drink comes as a single, a 6, a 12, or a 24. Or mix any cans you like: the price per can drops at 6, 12, and 24, and the basket shows how close you are.

Tax and can deposit are included on every drink, so the price on the shelf is the price at checkout.

Local delivery across Halifax Regional Municipality through Trexity, in 2-5 business days. Canada Post everywhere else it ships. Spend $125 for free local delivery or $10 off Canada Post, with a bar that fills as you shop.

A 19+ age gate, photo ID at the door, a delivery PIN for local orders, and a shipping and delivery policy in plain words.
